The Project:
When Centrelink Carnarvon needed urgent temporary cooling, the Active Air team were ready to go the extra mile (pun intended!) to deliver.
Being in such a remote area of Australia, transport companies only go to Carnarvon twice a week, unloading at a depot in Geraldton before loading again. This means deliveries can take up to four days to arrive.
The Perth WA team did not have time to wait, so they loaded up the truck with four 4.5 kW Portable Air Conditioners and headed up to Carnarvon – an 11-hour trip (each way!).
But that was easier said than done. On their first attempt, they were turned back as the road was flooded due to the remnants of the last cyclone coming down the coast.
The team did get through and left the staff and customers at Centrelink very happy.
