The Situation
Sleepers Awake is a truly unique temporary public artwork by international artists Heather and Ivan Morison.
Running from 17 to 25 May the event will signal the transformation of Bungarribee from a vacant site to an amazing park that will be a community hub for the people of Western Sydney.
The sculpture Sleepers Awake will float high above Bungarribee, emitting a bright white glow through the night, illuminating Bungarribee in a unique new light, offering visitors the opportunity to look again at where they live and what surrounds them.
At dusk, the 12-metre diameter illuminated float will appear like a second moon in the night sky. This installation will be accompanied by a wide variety of community performances and food.
The Solution
The event organiser needed to not only power the floating orb but also lights, audio equipment, and it all needed to run 24/7.
The Active Air Rentals team suggested a 100kVA temporary power generator with a 3000L fuel cell.
