The Project:
When IEDM needed power and climate control for the Real Madrid World of Football Experience and Exhibition, they turned to Active Air Rentals for a turnkey solution.
The event, which is running from June through to the end of September, is being held at the Melbourne Museum Plaza in a massive 50 x 30 m marquee, housing four separate ‘experiential’ zones.

The Details
Powering the site
While existing power onsite was used, mains power access was limited. Thanks to the flexibility of our distribution options and meticulous project management, we were able to sufficiently distribute power to the marquee, site offices, and amenities.
Climate Control
When it came to climate control, the unique venue had to be kept at a comfortable temperature for visitors keeping in mind the Melbourne winter), but also had to be cautious of the numerous artefacts, including Real Madrid`s most famous trophies.
Three 160kW HVAC LPG gas-operated units were connected to 600 mm black soft internal socks at pre-determined heights. A total of 150 m of socks were used. Each of the units is thermostatically controlled, and daily monitoring is conducted by Active Air Rentals, to ensure seamless operation.
Lighting
We also provided and set up all of the internal and external lighting, as well as the exit and emergency lights.
The space limitations at the venue, due to the proximity to the Royal Exhibition building and other events running in line with installation, meant that reducing the required footprint of the HVAC machines was crucial, as was working only in quiet hours.
