What to do when the critically acclaimed I, Malvolio is showing as part of Sydney Festival, but the city is experiencing endless heat waves?
The heritage listed Carriageworks Track 8 venue is cavernous but because of its heritage listing, air conditioning can not be permanently installed.
A hot stuffy venue would deter patrons so Sydney Festival organisers gave Active Air Rentals a call.
The Solution
After speaking to the event organisers and analysing the venue, the Active Air team came up with a plan.
Using two of the latest 55kW packaged unit air conditioners and a 100kVA generator the Active Air team designed a temporary air conditioning solution. It pumped cooled air in through ducting which was complementary to the building’s looks and status.
The Results
The air conditioning worked perfectly and the show was a sell out. The building was left exactly as it was before the temporary air conditioning was installed and everyone was happy.
