The Situation
The BMW Australia Caulfield Cup. It’s one of Australia’s richest thoroughbred horse races and the richest of its type in the world (2,400 metres).
This year’s Caulfield Cup took place at Flemington on Saturday 15 October. A strong finish in the Caulfield Cup is one of the possible qualification methods for a run in next week’s Melbourne Cup.
So it’s no wonder that it attracts some of the society’s most glamorous and famous faces. Not to mention richest.
As in previous years, Active Air Rentals were asked to provide the temporary air conditioning for the large custom marquees, housing approximately 3000 guests.
The Active Air team designed the perfect solution that met the client’s needs, available power, structure sizes, internal layouts and expected heat loads.
The team also made sure they gave particular attention to the visibility of the air conditioning ducting and units.
The Solution
Our installation included the following equipment,
- Packaged unit air conditioners
- Portable air conditioners
- Evaporative Coolers
- Double reflection wall grill ducts
- Fabric ducting (polyduct) for even air distribution
And as is the nature of Melbourne weather we also provided temporary heating for outside verandahs.
