Active Air is currently working alongside Victoria’s largest precast concrete manufacturing facility, located in Benella, which will play a crucial role in building North East Link. The site is set to make more than 44,000 concrete segments for the 6.5km North East Link Tunnels.

There are two separate batching plants in place, one supported by a 400kW chiller with a chiller on standby to ensure things remain functional, keeping the build on programme, if there is a fault with the main chiller.

The seond batching plant had a 250kw chiller to maintain water temperarture in summer which was swapped out for a boiler during the winter to bring the water temperature up. When summer returns the boiler will be replaced with a reverse cycle chiller to allow flexibility with the summer and winter months.
