A $2 Billion Briefing

The Situation
Sydney’s White Bay is slated for a $2 billion transformation and when completed aims to be the “best technology precinct in the world” according to NSW Premier Mick Baird.

In October, when calls were made for proposals from organisations to transform the 10-hectare area, over 200 proposals were received.

To keep industry updated on this major project an industry briefing was held for 500 attendees at the site.

The Solution

Using a 40 x 15m marquee, erected by Harry The Hirer, the 500 guests were kept cool with Active Air Rentals equipment. Active Air Rentals also powered the briefing.

“Given the size of the marquee and the heat load from 500 guests we specified six 18 kW packaged unit air conditioners. These were connected to inflatable duct runs which ran the length of the marquee ensuring even air flow throughout the structure.

The power requirements weren’t too taxing. To power the lights, computers, projectors etc we simply needed a 165 kVA generator and power distribution.” Explains Dominic Cook, Head Electrician, Active Air Rentals.

The briefing was a great success with progress expected to start in early 2016.
